Winter shorebird migration is an annual spectacle, and a reminder of how important our coast is for shorebird conservation. We are ready to help you learn all about it — and enjoy it in the process.
We will start with an indoor talk and presentation by Keith Bowey, local bird expert. After lunch (provided), we’ll head out for a two-mile walk, so please wear warm and weather appropriate clothing and outdoor suitable footwear.
What might you see if you join us for a walk? Sanderlings, purple sandpipers, golden plovers, ringed plovers, turnstones, knots, dunlins, curlew, oystercatchers, redshank, snow buntings and more. Those are the usual suspects. You never know when a rarity might show up!
If you have binoculars please bring them, we will have some available to borrow too.
Booking is essential.
