Join us and explore the musicality of the coastline and the North Sea!
SeaScapes CoLab and Harambee Pasadia in collaboration with Mental Health Swims Seaham invites swimmers and dipping communities to participate in Sea Beats.
Sea Beats aims to explore our local seascape through sharing stories, and making site specific music. Our first collaborative music making workshop will explore the musicality of our coastline and will be led by Hannabiell Sanders & Yilis Suriel (Ladies of Midnight Blue and Co-founders of Harambee Pasadia).
Join us on Slope Beach between 8.30 – 10.30am on July 24th where we will explore how we connect with the ocean through rhythm and percussion, storytelling, and music making with traditional instruments and objects found on the beach.
Support local businesses at Seaham Marina and grab a coffee/breakfast afterwards from one of the outlets to warm up afterwards!
The workshop will be documented through photo, video and sound recording.
IMPORTANT: Participants are responsible for their own safety at all times. This workshop is for adults and supervised children over 10 years of age.
