Little Terns Talk with Durham Wildlife Trust

Join Durham Wildlife Trust for an outdoor talk about the Little Terns at Seaton Carew.

Meet the Little Tern Warden Courtney and find out how the National Lottery Heritage Funded SeaScapes project is supporting our wardening and monitoring of the internationally important breeding colony of Little Terns at Crimdon and Seaton Carew.

This work is already underway with large numbers of birds returning after 2019’s successful breeding year.

The Little Tern, one of Britain’s rarest sea birds is one species which over recent years has taken a liking to the sands of Seaton Carew. Many now return annually in May from West Africa to breed on the north east coast with the potential of returning to Africa in September with the next generation.

Parking is available at the Car and Coach Park, and costs £2. Please wear weather appropriate clothing and footwear. This is a SeaScapes Coastal Wildlife Group event, funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.

No need to book, just turn up at 9am on Wednesday 21 July at Seaton Carew Beach.
