Join us to explore Crimdon Dene in search of foraging and nest making bumblebee queens and other pollinators!
You will learn how to identify the bumblebee species and other pollinator species that live along our coastal seascapes, and discover why they can be found there.
The session will begin with a short talk in the meeting room at the recently opened Dunes Café at the entrance to Crimdon Beach Car Park. We will then head out for a walk, visiting a few different locations along Crimdon Dene and Beach. As we walk, you’ll learn all about bees and how to identify different species, their life cycle and seasonal needs, as well as tips for how you can make your garden more bee friendly. We will finish the walk back at the Dunes Café for refreshments and questions.
